Livia is a drug-free device and is in the midst of being FDA approved. It is compact, meaning it will be easy for bag storage and discreet when worn. When you turned on Livia, it stimulates the nerves and blocks the pain from passing to the brain. It even promises to work immediately, unlike pills. Also, unlike pills, there are no side effects and you cannot build a tolerance to it.
According to the campaign, the science behind Livia is pretty simple: users just need to attach the device’s electrodes to the area of pain with the gel stickers and turn it on. It will then transmit a pulse to keep the nerves “busy”, preventing pain signals from passing to the brain. They call this the “Gate Control Theory”.
With over 50% of women who suffer from menstrual pains, this device is going to make a good replacement for the painkillers taken during this time of the month, causing harm to our bodies. Livia will be available for October 2016 in 11 different colors with the retail price of $149.
