Top Ten 2015 DIY Halloween Costumes

After have decorated your home, the next step for Halloween preparation is your costume! Have you settled on what you are going to be this year? Do not fear! We have created a list of the Top Ten DIY Halloween costumes for 2015!

  1. Marty McFly: Being that Marty and Doc time travel to this year in Back To The Future II (October 21st, 2015, to be exact), dressing up as the characters would be an ideal costume this Halloween! All you need to pull of being Marty McFly is a plaid shirt, a jean shirt, and a puffy red vest.
  2. Star Wars: With the new movie coming out at the end of this year, being a character from Star Wars will be fitting as well. For those who rather not purchase the store brand costumes, make a DIY Princess Leia and Han Solo is easy to accomplish! For Leia, just get a long sleeve long white dress, tie a brown rope or belt around your waist, and put side buns in your hair. Han Solo’s attire requires a white shirt and brown vest with dark pants. Do not forget lightsabers!
  3. Owen Grady: Jurassic World was the most popular movie this year. Choose to dress up as the raptor tamer, Owen Grady. All you need is cargo pants, a blue collar button-down shirt, and an old brown vest, paired with boots.
  4. Minions: Another super easy costume to construct, that is perfect for the whole family! All you will need to pull these characters off is a yellow shirt, overalls, and large round goggles.
  5. Orange Is The New Black: Not only is this a popular and easy costume, it will be very comfy! Get a white shirt and add orange or tan scrubs over it. You may accessorize based on the character you choose to be.
  6. Bad Blood Squad: Taylor Swift and her squad have been all over entertainment news this year. So, why not gather your own squad and recreate the bad blood music video this Halloween! What you need is leather black boots, black shorts or pants, crop tops, weapons, and four of your friends to complete this faux leather, girl power look!
  7. Cinderella: Allow your little princess to be THE princess of the year! Do this year’s live action movie Cinderella by getting a pretty puffy blue dress, glass slippers, and lots of glitters! Adding butterflies to the dress will be a great finishing touch.
  8. Claire and the T. Rex: Bringing back the biggest movie of the year for your baby and you. Mommy, you can dress up as Claire by wearing a matching blazer and skirt with heels. The Dino costume for the baby can be found for affordable prices on Amazon.
  9. Queen Bey[once] and Blue Ivy: We came across this unique DIY costume and though it was too good to pass up! Another great mommy and baby halloween outfit is a play on words with the queen bee, Beyonce, and her daughter, Blue Ivy. All mommy needs is a yellow dress paired with wings and a crown to create the ultimate Queen Bee costume. Blue Ivy’s assemble is super easy. Just put on a blue onesie and fake ivy vines that are painted blue.
  10. Statement Shirts: Not into dressing up for Halloween? Still remain festive with statement shirts. You can find many of these options on Etsy!
